Fan control 8M

The vast computing power of modern mainframes and server cabinets call for the use of multiple fans for targeted heat dissipation. Our fan control 8M simultaneously controls and monitors up to 8 fans.

 Functions of fan control 8M:

The functionality and efficiency of the connected fans has to be ensured all the time. Our fan control 8M allows technicians to monitor the rotation speed of up to 8 fans at the same time so that they are able to react very quickly on malfuctions in the event of a fault. This allows a fast replacement of the displayed fan and prevents damage to the expensive electronics caused by too high generation of heat.

The fault-free operation can be displayed using a connectable status-LED (e.g. green), provided that the fans are connected with the speedometer signal output.

Two rotational speed limits are evaluated for each fan and are signalised by a STATUS-LED and a buzzer in many different ways. Fans spinning too slow or standing still are signalised by appropriate red LED. The in the case of an error resounding buzzer can be deactivated at any time.

At normal operation a tachometer signal of 3000 rotaions per minute is generated.  In the event of an error the tacho signal of the too slow spinning fan is displayed.
